The US healthcare system is a tale of two cities. One city is magnificent. Even in the study you mention, the US ranks among the best in qualities such as effective care, speed of care, and focus on the patient. The other city is dismal. Again, according to the study you mention, US healthcare ranks among the worst in access and equity. Too often, a person’s ZIP Code is his or her health destiny. And it is enormously inefficient, when compared with other nations that are leaders in healthcare. Much of this has to do with healthcare insurance.
