Panasonic’s Dr Iku Ohama On The Future Of Artificial Intelligence

AI is a powerful tool, but at the same time it tests the literacy and ethics of those who use it. Now that everyone can use AI, I believe it is our responsibility to teach AI technology and ethics to the public, to increase the number of people who can make good use of it. Panasonic has established AI ethics principles and is working on human resource development to increase the number of employees who can use AI properly.


As part of our series about the future of Artificial Intelligence, I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Iku Ohama.

Dr. Iku Ohama has been with Panasonic since 2006 and is currently Director of AI Laboratory at Panasonic R&D Company of America, a Panasonic’s R&D center in Silicon Valley.

He started Panasonic’s first business consulting team mixing data science and AI experts, with strong theoretical foundations. He then moved to AI Laboratory in Mountain View where and has been leading R&D activities to develop
