I wish I had known the importance of knowing the character of the person I was going to spend the rest of my life with and our compatibility prior to marrying.

Both my husband Mike and I were married previously. Both of us were too young to understand the importance of getting to know the person that we “fell in love” with and also to consult about mutual goals in life. This led both of us to have a lot of pain and heartache in our 20s and 30s. Fortunately, we learned from our experiences and took the time to really get to know each other before we made a lifetime commitment to each other.

A native of the Ohio Valley, Dorothy Longo fulfilled her dream of moving to New York City in 1970
