As part of my series about “individuals and organizations who are making an important social impact, I had the pleasure of interviewing Leah Lizarondo, the CEO and Founder of Food Rescue Hero, a company that is ending food waste nationally and creating an impact on hunger and climate change. She is building a tech-powered movement with an audacious goal of creating the largest network of citizens doing good. Food Rescue Hero is a social enterprise with technology, logistics and civic engagement platform that aims to fight hunger and promote sustainability by preventing perfectly good food from entering the waste stream and directly distributing it to organizations that benefit those who are food insecure. Leah has won numerous awards for her pioneering work since it launched in 2015.
