Inspirational Women In Hollywood: How ‘Married With Children’ Star Amanda Bearse Is Shaking Up The Entertainment Industry

… Well, diversity has upped its game, but it’s fractional. White men still run the industry. People of color, women, women of color, and different sexual orientations and identities, should be welcome at the table with an equal and open mind and opportunity. But, unfortunately, that isn’t the case. There are still quotas. There’s still an immediate prejudice against the “other,” and even women fall into that category. So I’d like that scale to keep tipping in the right direction.


I had the pleasure of talking to actress and director Amanda Bearse. After graduating the Neighborhood Playhouse under Sanford Meisner, Amanda began her professional acting career in New York on “All My Children”. In Los Angeles, she co-starred in the cult horror film “Fright Night” opposite Chris Sarandon, followed by another classic, playing Marcy D’Arcy on Fox’s “Married…With Children”.
